You will also notice different stain colors of the woods, however some photos of the wood flooring are in natural color. Meaning there isn’t a stain applied to the wood. By simply putting an oil-base or water-base finish on wood, this will slightly give it a light amber color. This only applies to some woods though, example: oak, maple, pine, birch etc. these wood species are light in texture naturally. When finish is applied to darker textured woods, example: Walnut, Cherry, Padauk, Mahogany etc. the finish enhances these darker wood species colors to a full and delightful richness.

     The sample photos feature woods supplied from various reliable wood manufactures, Harris-Tarkett, Bruce, Kahrs, Kentucky Woods, Junckers, and Indiana Hardwood Specialists. Most samples are from wood that is job site finished, meaning supplied from the factory unfinished. Therefore sanding, staining (coloring ), and finishing must take place in your home.
